The time I… faked smiles, and held back tears

Dramatic is the word you are looking for. But college was that way for me. Until now, I consider it the best time of my life.

Endless days of what ifs, and buts. Countless hours day dreaming about crushes. Time spent hanging out with friends, going to concerts, eating out, staying in and having drinks, or relaxing along lover’s lane with nothing but a guitar, and the infinite amount of songs on our repertoire to entertain us. Sleepless nights, tossing and turning, lingering on the slightest chance of a little something being a possibility. Immeasurable number of tears shed due to misunderstandings, or heart aches.

It was a roller coaster. And that is exactly why I love it. Simply because I felt alive.

Day 133 of PROJECT EFFERVESCENCE

Art is not for appreciation

No matter what the form is – poetry, painting, photograph. Art is an expression. It always has been.

The individual creating a masterpiece from scratch, or gathering an assortment of items and piecing them together as one wished is, basically, communicating. It may be unbeknownst to them, but, all that was put into the art is a collection of their passing thoughts, and feelings. Art, in itself, is one’s soul manifested into something earthly.

With constant reminders that humans are erroneous, imperfect; we have debased art through our continuous effort to seek approval from others. I guess this is as inevitable as one’s need to be reciprocated.

However, to only regard art as something to criticize is an insult. People will have differing opinions about a particular artwork, but they mean nothing. The only thoughts or feelings of value are the artist’s. Because art, as an expression, is not for one’s appreciation. It is meant to be understood.

Day 131 of PROJECT EFFERVESCENCE

Relationship goals

LOL. Not really!

I don’t have a relationship, and I’m not really looking for one. If it comes, it comes. But I’m content with being single right now. Although, there are a few things I would love to be able to try, repeatedly, or at least once with a significant other in the future, in no particular order.

#1 HUGS FROM BEHIND

Don’t they make you feel very safe? Also, if done correctly, it feels like the two of you are a perfect fit.

#2 DRIVE-IN THEATER

I’ve never tried it in my life. It’s actually something I really want to do even with the company of just friends. It seems really cool in the movies.

#3 BE CARRIED AWAY

No, I’m not talking wedding bells here. I mean literally be carried away. In any manner, under any circumstance. I think it’s necessary for my boyfriend to have the strength to carry me. Like literally lift me up, pick me up, carry me. LOL

I have lots more to add to the list. But, I think I’ll save them for future use.
